Wistyria Editions Felting Needles 4 pcs.
Wistyria Editions Felting Needles are the hands tools necessary to do needle felting. Each needle has a long shank with a narrow shaft that has a very sharp tip. The needles have notched barbs on the sides toward the bottom of the shaft. Needle felting is a process which uses barbed needles to interlock wool fibers to form a more condensed material. Wool fibers have scales which when rubbed against each other catch and lock into place to create the denser material called felt! The needles are made of metal and extremely sharp!
The 38 gauge star needle is a four sided needle that leaves a smaller hole in the felted surface. It felts slower than the larger gauge triangle needles, but the detail is finer.
The 36 gauge is used for faster coarse felting that leaves a larger hole in the felted surface.
The 38 gauge is a general purpose needle used for medium felting that leaves a smaller hole than the 36 and is good for attaching felt to felt or to wool.
The 40 gauge is excellent for fine detailing and sculpting.
